The Forest Lake Sports Center, owned and operated by the Forest Lake School District, welcomed its first skaters Oct. 1, 2008, adding much-needed skating capacity in the North Metro. We have one year-round ice sheet, Lichtscheidl Arena, and a fabric-covered Field House with refrigerated ice October to mid-March, when it converts to dryland for turf sports and civic events. The Forest Lake Sports Center is home to the Forest Lake Rangers High School Boys and Girls hockey teams, the Minnesota Mullets of the USPHL, and the Forest Lake Hockey Association.
