Ranger Girls Tennis (7-12)

Regular Season 2020

New Benches

Thank you to all of the individuals and families who donated funds for benches on the courts. We now have two benches per court, and the players love them.

Update 10/9/2021

The tennis shed has been a wonderful hub for senior night, teacher appreciation night, and conference matches for the girls. They are able to serve snacks to families and teachers with the new counter courtesy of Mr. Dzurik, share everyone's match scores on a whiteboard courtesy of Mrs. Wiener, and store goods in their new fridge courtesy of Mr. Shortly. Old and new team posters are hung up inside as well, and the shed provides a nice dry location during unexpected rain. The team and coaches absolutely love their new space!

Update 8/14/2021

The shed functioned as our concession stand this weekend at the Rally for the Rangers Tournament, and has been used to run the community education summer camps as well. It was awesome to have the community come and see the progress the booster club, coaches, and families have made for the tennis teams.

Update 7/13/2021

The new tennis shed is being used daily, supporting Community Education programs and the high school teams. It has become not only a great storage location that has plenty of room and is easy to navigate, but a center to run youth camps out of. Coaches, players, and parents are excited to host the 2nd annual Rally for the Rangers tournament from the shed, and are looking forward to the upcoming season with this wonderful new resource.

Shed Update 03/21/21

The spring weather allowed our great construction crew headed up by Jeff Dzurik and Eric Leagjeld to get out and finish up many of the details for our new shed.  It is really looking beautiful as of this update.  Thanks to all!!

12/7/20 Update on New Tennis Shed

OUR NEW TENNIS SHED is finally taking shape.

After seeing what our kids have had to deal with in the way of a shed for their supplies in the past years, it became painfully obvious that a new shed was needed.  After much planning, and after the organization of the Boys Booster Club and help from many parents, we undertook the project of building a new shed.

With money raised by our Booster Clubs (both the girls and boys clubs), we were able to purchase materials and then construct the walls and trusses ahead of time and then erect everything this last weekend: 12/5 and 12/6.  Our plan is to finish the structure next spring after it warms back up.  In the future the new shed will house most all of our tennis supplies as well as serve to be the central administrative location for tournaments.  I want to thank everyone who helped out so far with this cause!  Remember, it takes all of us as we move forward in building this tennis community.

Thanks, Coach Ron

The shed was first drawn up using a Computer Aided Design program.

The site was prepared by removing top soil & bringing in the appropriate gravel mix for a concrete slab. Our extraordinary foreman on this job was/is Jeff Dzurik (on the left). Helping him this day was his wife Kelly, and also Amber Setter & Todd Kerkow.

Meanwhile the trusses were built by Coach Ron and Phil and Captains Joey, Henry, and Evan.

PHILSTER! What a great assistant coach. He helps keep me calm.

Captain Henry learning a new skill. He did a great job!

A special note to the lady in the background. Not only did Jessie Leagjeld keep us supplied with food goodies and snacks but she also was the safety director for Jeff and Eric.
