Our Coaching Philosophy

We appreciate the privilege and opportunity to function as a coach in your student's life.  We consider it a position of great honor, trust, and obligation. To coach a student athlete is a two-fold obligation. Not only do you need to be proficient in the skill set of the sport, but mindful of the influence of words spoken and actions demonstrated. It is a wonderful opportunity to be able to pass on a legacy of skills and development of moral character. In order to accomplish this, coaches must possess the following:

A desire to make a positive influence in a student athlete’s skill set and personal character,

A personal passion for the sport or activity coached,

An understanding of, and proficiency in the skill set being coached,

A possession of moral character that provides a safe learning environment for the student athlete,

An ability to communicate with the athlete and instruct effectively,

An ability to communicate and work effectively with other coaches and parents,

An ability to make effective, timely decisions, and follow a plan of action,

An ability to assess a student athlete’s needs and design a plan for addressing those needs,

A willingness to sacrifice time and talent over compensation,

A willingness demonstrated through action, to become a better coach.
