2020 Pre-Season Golf Meeting
The 2020 pre-season golf meeting for those trying out for Varsity/JV and those interested in particiapting in developmental golf is Thursday March 12th after school (2:45PM) in Coach Schugel's room (Room 305 at the high school). If you cannot make it please e-mail firstname.lastname@example.org.
First Day of Practice for Developmental Team: The first day of practice will be Wednesday April 1st. We are going to be meeting in Coach Schugel's room at the high school, Room 305. We will meet from 2:45-3:45. You do not need to bring any golf clubs with you.
Costs: All players trying out for Varsity & JV pay $260 (thru SchoolView account). We will not be selling PGA cards this year and will be asking each Varsity/JV player to write a check to the booster club for $50. This fee will help offset the costs of tournament entry fees, golf balls, shirts, and hats. Developmental players in 7th - 9th grade pay $90. 7th-9th graders who try out and make the Varsity/JV will pay $260. If someone tries out for Varsity/JV and does not make it and does developmental golf, they will be refunded the difference.
*All players must have clubs, bag, balls, tees etc. Golf shoes are encouraged but not a necessity.
*The program is 7-12. All players are allowed to try out for JV/Varsity. The Varsity and JV will have between 16-20 players. Practice M-F and some practice/tournaments some Saturdays.
*Players in grades 7-9 who do not make the team will be allowed to play on the developmental team, which meets 2 days/week (Monday and Wednesday). Players/parents can decide not to practice if a player needs extra help in school or conflicts with something else, but please communicate with coaches.
*We have a shuttle bus that will bring kids to the course for the Developmental practices. Varsity/JV players will have to get rides to practice.
*Parents must pick up players at the courses each night so we strongly encourage car-pooling.
*We have storage for clubs at the middle school, but students cannot bring clubs on the regular route school buses and parents are expected to get the clubs to school each day. We do not have storage at the HS for clubs and we expect kids to help each other with storage and rides to the courses.
Great behavior and attitude is an expectation for all players. Causing damage to the course, outbursts of anger, club throwing, or foul language will not be tolerated and could lead to dismissal from the team without warning.
